New Health Center in Carrizalillo, Mexico

On April 29th, Equinox Gold proudly celebrated the opening of a new Health Center in Carrizalillo, Mexico, marking a significant step forward in our commitment to corporate responsibility. This momentous occasion was made possible through the dedicated collaboration between the team at our Los Filos Mine, the Ejidal Commissariat, and local contractors. We extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone involved in successfully completing this project, which includes the construction of the Health Center and the procurement of a new ambulance for the community. The project was funded by Equinox Gold, the health center design was chosen following a local design competition with resident input, and construction was carried out by contractors from Carrizalillo.

The opening ceremony was attended by directors, executives, and leaders from Equinox Gold and our Los Filos Mine, as well as representatives from the Ejidal Commissariat of Carrizalillo and residents of the local community. During the event, Ross Beaty, Chair of Equinox Gold’s Board of Directors, highlighted the significance of nurturing strong partnerships between corporations and communities. Maryse Bélanger, Chair of the Board’s ESG Committee, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the indispensable role of teamwork in responsibly advancing our projects.
